Trailor Intro

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 Trailer - Analysis

The trailer that i have chosen to analyse is 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2'. I chose to do this trailer on this film, because i have recently watched Harry Potter, and it's all fresh, so i thought it would be ideal for me to analyse the trailer to the final film.
In the opening of the Deathly Hallows official trailer  the first thing that i saw was the 'Warner Bros' logo, surrounded with a dark themed background, along with dramatic sound effects, that would make the audience intrigued, and it draws the viewers in immediately, and because 'Warner Bros' is a company, and produce quite a variety of films such as; What A Girl Wants, The In-Laws, Looney Toons -Back in Action, and many more, so anyone who is a fan of any of the films that the Warner Bros create, would obviously check out most of their films, including Harry Potter. It also helps if people are fans of the actors/actresses.
The fact that the producer of the trailer has deliberately shown different shots that were shown in some of the films, for example; the shot of the lake, and how the camera is panning across the lake, and then shows a faded black out and when the screen lightens up again, it's showing Lord Voldemort's back while a mysterious voice (voice over) says 'there is no sign of him my Lord', indicating that Harry Potter is no where to be seen. This is building up the suspense for the audience/viewers, which would leave them wondering what was going to happen.
Throughout the whole trailer  it has non-diegetic sound (background music), that means, only the audience can hear it, and the actors cannot. That gives out an energetic type of vibe, making the audience have an energetic vibe, kind of like a cliff hanger, they want to know what is going to happen next.
The idea of switching camera shots to two different place, and then back to the first shot, is pretty good, because it's showing dark and light parts, meaning that the place where Lord Voldemort is, is a very dark and dangerous place, where as the light part, is the place any one would probably want to stay, knowing that it's an open space, where there is plenty of light, than in a place that's dark and closed in. It shows these shots at an angle, but slowly zooms in, for a more spontaneous effect on the audience, without making any sudden jumps, that would make the trailer look a bit odd.
There are a few close ups on the actors faces, and the way they went from one actor/actress to another, using the technical word 'shot verse shot', was amazing, because it makes you feel part of the conversation, and it gives the audience a more dramatic effect.
Also, the use of the dialogue was quite intense, because of the film being the last one, and Harry is going up against is nemesis; Voldemort, it's giving you an idea on what's going to happen in the film, without giving too much away, like when Voldemort says 'Harry Potter, the boy who lived... Has come to die'; even though the dialogue was only quite short and simple, it was really effective for the audience, and majority of people would be at the edge of their seats, because of how intense only a few words can be.
The use of different scenes all put into one small trailer, doesn't necessarily give the film away, but it makes the viewers want to watch the film, just too see all of the action, and what happens, i guess that's what trailers are for. The footage of the shield of Hogwarts slowly deteriorating, meaning the students would be a great danger, and there would be uproar between the good and bad. The subtitles throughout the trailer, indicating that it would be the last film "The Finale Of The Worldwide Phenomenon", they used a quick animation, with a clear sound effect, hoping that the viewer would be dragged in, if they wasn't already, and even though that subtitle was only six words, those six words could mean everything to huge fans of Harry Potter.

Album

I chose this album cover of One Direction, because they do so much for charity, and they are my idols.
Instead of using loads of money to make a music video, they made one themselves, and then all the money that they had raised, went to all children and people living with really tough lives (Red Nose Day).

The album cover stands out mostly to girls, because there are five gorgeous teen boys on the front, any girls dream right? Also, they look like they're having so much fun, instead of having a serious photoshoot type, with serious faces, and you can see how much they enjoy doing stuff for their fans, and for charity.
